Nestled in the woods and overlooking the 17th green of the beautiful Toftrees golf course, the Carnegie House Restaurant is as inviting as it is charming. Upon arrival, each guest is invited to relax by the fireplace in the library, or in a cozy, fireside reading nook, where patrons may savor complimentary hors d’oeuvres, and a wide variety of cocktails and wines.
After the relaxing introduction to the staff and the menu, you will be escorted to your table as the dining experience begins with a wide array of appetizers and entrees that compare to the best restaurants of the largest cities in the United States. Additionally, the Carnegie House Restaurant wine list is one of the best in the area and features a wide variety of wines from California, France and other countries. The excellence of the fine dining has been confirmed in recent years as the Carnegie House Restaurant was voted “Best Fine Dining” and “Best Wait Service” by State College Magazine readers; in 2014 and 2015 it was voted "Best in Fine Dining" yet again, and took home the award for "Most Romantic Dining" as well.
It’s almost impossible not to revere the scenery from the dining room, where a bow window allows dinner guests to view the beautiful flowers that surround the Carnegie House Restaurant and the woods bordering the golf course.
